Terms of Service
The agreement between you and River Angel Technologies Inc.
Last updated 26 August 2026
These Terms govern your use of the ElectroVision mobile application (the "App"), operated by River Angel Technologies Inc. ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The most important thing to understand
ElectroVision produces estimates, not measurements. It identifies appliances from photographs using artificial intelligence and models what they likely cost to run.
AI systems can be confidently wrong. The App may misidentify an appliance entirely, invent a specification that does not exist, misread a number on a meter or bill, or produce a cost figure that is simply incorrect — and it may present any of these with apparent certainty. This behaviour is a known limitation of the technology, not a defect we can fully eliminate.
It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of anything the App tells you. ElectroVision is a tool to help you gather and organise information about your home's energy use. It is not a professional energy audit, not a metering device, and not a guarantee of savings.
Do not make significant financial decisions based on the App's output. Verify against your actual utility bills and consult a qualified professional before purchasing an appliance, replacing equipment, or making any other consequential decision.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Your account
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information when registering, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Subscriptions and billing
- ElectroVision offers a free tier and a paid subscription with an optional free trial.
- Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through in-app purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If you begin a free trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown at signup.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies. We cannot process refunds directly.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to access the App's scanning services.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, create accounts in bulk, or otherwise consume service capacity in a way that degrades it for others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to submit.
- Use the App to violate any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate access that violates these rules, or that threatens the stability or cost of the service.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photographs and information you submit. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate the App's features for you — analyzing an image to identify appliances, for example. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not license it to third parties for their own purposes.
Estimates, AI limitations, and your responsibility to verify
Everything the App produces is an estimate
The App's appliance identifications, wattage figures, kilowatt-hour projections, cost calculations, efficiency ratings, grades, and recommendations are estimates. They are not measurements of your actual energy consumption. Only your utility meter and your utility bill record what you actually used.
Energy models necessarily rely on assumptions — typical wattages for a class of appliance, average usage patterns, regional rates — and on the accuracy of the information you enter. Changing any of those inputs changes the output.
The App uses artificial intelligence, which can be wrong
Appliance identification, meter reading, and bill reading are performed by artificial intelligence systems. You should understand the following about how such systems behave:
- They can hallucinate — that is, generate information that is plausible-sounding but false, including specifications, model names, or figures that do not exist.
- They can misidentify objects, reporting an appliance that is not present or missing one that is.
- They can misread numbers on a meter or a utility bill, which will in turn distort every calculation derived from that reading.
- They express confidence that does not reliably correspond to correctness. A high confidence score is not proof that an answer is right.
These are inherent limitations of the underlying technology. We work to reduce them, but we cannot eliminate them, and we do not warrant that the App's output is accurate.
You are responsible for verifying accuracy
It is your responsibility to check anything the App tells you before relying on it. Every figure in the App is editable precisely so that you can correct it. Compare the App's estimates against your actual utility bills. If a number looks wrong, it may well be wrong.
Not a professional audit, and not financial advice
ElectroVision is an assistive tool for gathering and organising information about your home's energy use. It is not a professional energy audit, and it is not a substitute for one. A certified energy auditor uses calibrated instruments and physical inspection; this App uses photographs and statistical models.
Nothing in the App constitutes professional, financial, investment, engineering, or legal advice. You should not make significant financial decisions on the basis of the App's output. Before purchasing or replacing an appliance, undertaking home improvements, changing utility providers or tariffs, or making any other consequential financial decision, verify the underlying figures independently and consult a qualified professional.
We are not liable for decisions you make in reliance on the App's estimates. See the limitation of liability below.
Service availability
We aim to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and scanning capacity may be limited to control costs. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, River Angel Technologies Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, lost profits, or lost data, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
Apple
These Terms are between you and River Angel Technologies Inc., not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
